About BirdSong Contracting
BirdSong Contracting is a family-run general contracting team based in Linden, Tennessee. We handle residential and commercial work for homeowners and businesses across Perry County and the surrounding Middle TN area.
Our story
BirdSong Contracting was built on a simple idea: rural Tennessee deserves a contractor who answers the phone, shows up when they say they will, and does the work as if the homeowner were watching every swing of the hammer.
We started small — handyman work, small remodels, and the kind of jobs other contractors said weren't worth their time. As word got around, the work grew. Today we handle everything from a leaky faucet on Main Street in Linden to full barndominium builds on land outside Hohenwald, plus commercial HVAC and walk-in freezer installs for restaurants and cold-storage businesses across the region.
What hasn't changed: we still answer the phone. We still treat a $200 handyman job with the same care as a $200,000 remodel. And we still live in the community we serve — which means our work is all around town, and our reputation is the only thing we're really selling.
The partners
BirdSong Contracting is owned and run by two partners — Bob in the field and Taylor in the office. No call center, no rotating subs you've never met. The person who quotes your job is the person who answers the phone, and the person who builds it is the person whose name is on the truck.
Partner & Lead Tradesman
Bob is the hands on every job — the one swinging the hammer, running the saw, and signing off on the finish. Decades in the trades across framing, roofing, HVAC, and remodel work mean there's very little he hasn't built, fixed, or torn out and done right the second time. If Bob says it'll hold, it holds.
Partner & Operations
Taylor runs everything around the work — quotes, scheduling, permits, and the phone call you actually get back. When you reach out to BirdSong, you're talking to Taylor, and the written estimate, the timeline, and the follow-through all come from the same place. Organized so Bob can stay on the tools.

Building in Perry County and the Middle Tennessee hills is not the same as building in a subdivision. The homes out here are older farmhouses, hunting cabins, metal-roof barndominiums, and Main Street storefronts — each with its own quirks, and most of them a long drive from the nearest big-box supplier.
We plan for that. Tennessee summers are humid enough to find every gap in your envelope and grow mold behind it; winters bring the kind of ice and wind that test a roof and freeze an unprotected pipe. We seal, flash, and insulate for the weather we actually get — not the weather on the box. And because we're local, a missed bundle of shingles or a backordered fixture doesn't stall your job for a week.
